Geniqi Privacy Policy

1. Introduction
Geniqi (“we,” “our,” or “us”) provides analytics and data enrichment services for businesses that connect their QuickBooks accounts using Intuit's approved APIs and authentication mechanisms. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information obtained through your authorized connection to QuickBooks, and how enriched data is handled within the Geniqi platform.
We are committed to protecting your privacy. Geniqi does not sell, rent, or distribute customer data and uses data solely to provide the services you explicitly authorize.
2. How Data Is Accessed
QuickBooks Access
Geniqi accesses your data directly through QuickBooks using Intuit-approved APIs and OAuth authentication. Data access occurs only after you explicitly authorize Geniqi within your QuickBooks account.
We do not bypass QuickBooks authentication, scrape data, or access information outside of the permissions you grant.
Data Enrichment
Once data is securely retrieved from QuickBooks, select data fields may be enriched using Plaid to enhance categorization, normalization, or analytical value. Plaid is not used to access your QuickBooks account and does not replace or override Intuit authentication.
3. Information We Collect
Depending on your authorization settings, Geniqi may process:
- QuickBooks company data (e.g., transactions, accounts, invoices, vendors, customers)
- QuickBooks company identifiers (including QuickBooks Customer / Company ID)
- Configuration or metadata required to provide analytics or reporting
- Limited contact information if you voluntarily provide it for support or communication
We collect only the minimum data necessary to provide the requested services.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use your data exclusively for:
- Providing Geniqi services, including analytics, enrichment, and reporting
- Authenticating and maintaining your QuickBooks connection
- Ensuring data accuracy and integrity
- Customer support and service communications
- Improving our platform, using aggregated and de-identified information only
5. Data Hosting and Retention
Hosting
Data processed by Geniqi is securely hosted on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) using industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit and at rest.
Retention
Data is stored temporarily and retained only for as long as required to deliver authorized services or comply with legal obligations. When you disconnect your QuickBooks account or request deletion, associated data is removed within a defined retention period unless otherwise required by law.
6. Data Access and Ownership
Data processed by Geniqi remains associated with the corresponding QuickBooks company, identified by QuickBooks Customer ID.
Access to data is restricted to users authorized by that QuickBooks company.
Geniqi does not permit cross-company access or reuse of customer data.
7. Data Sharing
Geniqi does not sell or share data for advertising or commercial resale.
We may share data only:
- With service providers strictly necessary to operate our platform (e.g., cloud infrastructure), under confidentiality obligations
- To comply with legal or regulatory requirements
- At your explicit direction or request
8. Security Measures
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, including:
- Encryption (TLS/HTTPS and at-rest encryption)
- Role-based access controls
- Secure authentication and monitoring
- Regular reviews of security practices
While no system can guarantee absolute security, we continuously work to protect your information.
9. Your Rights and Choices
You may:
- Revoke access at any time via QuickBooks
- Request deletion of stored data
- Request information about how your data is processed
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes will be communicated through the app or via email, along with an updated effective date.
